To those very very few who actually know about it, my comic Nightmare Asylum, has been pretty slow. One reason is because of my laziness, but the other is the most important, my art. I am very disappointed on the quality of the first page of it when I can definitely do better than that. This realization came when decided to just draw some random guy in a jacket, and it came out better looking than the whole page. It was probably because I was getting back to my roots in my style, which was my influence from the art of Yoshitoshi ABe (Serial Experiments Lain) and the art from Ergo Proxy. I was recently struggling on whether or not to actually go for a more western style of drawing as it seemed easier when I was comparing it to a recent drawing I made that looked like a wan-a-bee anime copy. It just wasn't my style, so I went into a pretty long artist block. Now that I see how I should not put to much attention into trying to be like other drawings but to just enjoy the process of drawing and developing over time, I believe that I can bring out a quality comic that is worthy to be on deviantart. For now I will put Nightmare Asylum on hold for a while so I can edit the story to fix things and to change some of my character designs. With my copy of the Serial Experiments Lain DVD/BD Box Set coming in the mail, I think I can start developing a style that is me, by going back to those roots I spoke of.
Sorry for anyone who actually followed me for the comic; it will just be a while until I finalize all the details. Until next time...
